		<description><![CDATA[I haven&#039;t seen Eliot Coleman&#039;s book, but I remember that he was a close friend for many years, and lived nearby, Helen and Scott Nearing, who were the real back-to-the-land organic and raw foodists.  They began in 1937 or abouts, in Vermont, and in the 1950&#039;s moved to Harborside, Maine.  Their book &quot;Living the Good Life&quot; describes a life of subistence farming and social consciousness, spirituality.  They were mentors for the counter culture of the &#039;60s.]]></description>
